Program Highlights

What is the NetSERVE Teacher Residency Program?

The Winthrop University NetSERVE Teacher Residency Program is an innovative, cohort-based 12-18 month Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) program that features a cohesive academic and clinical experiences design, year-long stipend supported internship, and a community-based teaching  focus for working with rural, high-needs schools. The program offers a pathway for those with a non-education bachelor’s degree to earn a master’s degree and the certification credentials to teach in South Carolina schools.

"This program provides a teacher candidate with the opportunity to work in an area, become familiar with the surroundings, and be hired in the same school. This is definitely a “win-win” situation for the teacher candidates, the students and our schools."
