The Winthrop University Teacher Residency Program is an accelerated Master of Arts in Teaching program for people who have earned a bachelor's degree in another field but who have a desire to teach in rural, high-need communities in South Carolina.

Career and Financial Support
$20,000 stipend to support participation in year-long residency, 50% reduced tuition cost, and guarantee of employment for successful graduates.
MAT from state flagship teacher preparation college and program model that supports teaching preparedness and effectiveness.
Professional Learning Community
Personalized coaching and mentoring support and participation in a strong University-School network partnership of educators and university faculty.
